Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of an herb called mugwort to facilitate healing. Medical historians believe that moxibustion pre-dated acupuncture and needling came to supplement moxibustion after the 2nd century BC.
How does Moxibustion work?
The mugwart herb can be placed directly on the skin, attached to acupuncture needles, or rolled into sticks and waved gently over the area to be treated.
